Today, we are delighted to welcome Joey Kim, the newest member of the Romulus team.

Joey joins us from McKinsey & Company, where he was a Business Analyst from October 2015-February 2017. In this capacity, Joey consulted companies on matters related to talent strategy, digital technology monetization, sales operations, and digital capabilities diagnostics. During his tenure at McKinsey, Joey took a 5-week official leave of absence to serve on the transition team for newly-elected Missouri Governor Eric Greitens. In this role, Joey helped form the new governor’s cabinet in Jefferson City.

Before joining McKinsey, Joey was one of 16 entrepreneurs selected in a pilot accelerator hosted by Harvard i-Lab, IDEO, and Fidelity. There, he worked on a startup that focused on a B2B data visualization tool in the 401k space. Joey holds a B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Harvard University, from which he graduated in 2015.

At Romulus, Joey will apply the same passion, curiosity, and grit he demonstrated at McKinsey and Harvard to sourcing investments and conducting due diligence, working toward the firm’s collective goal of building the next great technology-enabled businesses.

“I consider myself incredibly lucky to be joining Romulus,” says Joey. “For me, it was all about being part of a VC team that brings the same intense hunger and hustle that I know founders bring every day. Like all the founders who pour their souls into their startups, I can’t wait to hustle and grind and build Romulus into something bigger than any one of us.”

Outside of VC, Joey likes to rock climb, play board games of all sorts, and watch Shark Tank. He also considers himself an amateur critic of Korean restaurants.

We are already thrilled with the contribution Joey has made to the Romulus office with his enthusiasm, intellect, and affinity for suspenders. Welcome, Joey!
